Why now?

I've been doing a lot of sewing lately and have come to the conclusion that I don't need drugs. I couldn't afford them, anyway, with all the money that I put into fabrics and notions. I'm obsessed with getting the next awesome outfit out of my mind and onto the body of my next victim recipient. To that end, I've started this blog, to document the insanity that is my sewing room. In addition to the posts showing my completed garments, I hope to also show a few techniques I've worked out and some that I've blatantly stolen from my contemporaries (with their permission, of course).
I tend to 'assembly line' produce. In other words, I'll cut out patterns for several garments all at once and stack them in corresponding piles so that I only have to stop sewing at the end of a project to change needles and thread before I can start over again. I hate the cutting out phase--it always seems to drag on much longer than seems necessary. When I've got enough garments prepared, I almost forget that I'm the one who cut them all out and so it seems as if someone has come along and done the work for me. :)
And so now I'm off to the cutting table where I've got eight garments waiting for me to cut them out. I'll have photos posted when there's something to document.
